The coromandel weather is a lot of fun (in other words, it's very changeable!) and this means we can get up to four seasons in one day.
In summer we advise you to bring:
walking boots
warm clothes
sun glasses and
suntan lotion
a good rain coat and hat
mosquito repellent
In winter bring the same as above but don't worry about the suntan lotion.
Coromandel Roads
There are a lot of unsealed (Gravel) roads in the Coromandel. If you have hired a car, motorhome or a campervan and you wish to travel on those unsealed roads, it would be well worth your while to check your rental contract. A lot of rental companies DO NOT allow their vehicles on these roads.
The roads are very windy, people often get car sick, so although Tim is a slow and safe driver you might want to be prepared if you are likely to get car sick.
The fact they operate as a couple makes the ride even safer, as Tina can be your tour guide, while Tim can concentrate on the driving.
Ferry
One of the most stunning ways to arrive on the Coromandel Peninsula is by ferry from Auckland to Coromandel Town and from there, Tim and Tina can pick you up and take you wherever you wish to go.
